Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ cup dill pickle relish or finely chopped dill pickles
Dough and Topping
- 16 ounces crescent roll dough (two 8-ounce cans)
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the rolls.
- Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, thoroughly stir together the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and dill pickle relish until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough onto a flat surface and press along the perforations to seal them together forming two large sheets.
- Spread Filling: Evenly spread the creamy pickle mixture across each sheet of crescent dough, covering the entire surface.
- Roll Up Dough: Starting from the shorter side of each dough sheet, roll tightly and evenly over the filling to create a log shape.
- Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice each rolled log into 8 pieces, each approximately 1 inch thick, for a total of 16 roll ups.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the individual roll ups cut side down on a greased or parchment-lined 12 inch by 18 inch baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
- Brush with Butter and Dill: In a small bowl, mix melted butter with fresh dill, then brush this mixture generously over the tops of all the rolls to add flavor and promote browning.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure easy mixing and spreading.
- Pressing the crescent dough perforations together prevents the filling from leaking during baking.
- Use fresh dill for the best flavor, but dried dill works in a pinch.
- Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
- These roll ups can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
