Peanut Butter Mousse Ingredients

  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter (see notes for alternatives)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare Peanut Butter Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the smooth peanut butter, softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Set aside.
  2. Whip Heavy Cream: In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream with a mixer until stiff peaks form, ensuring the cream is light and fluffy for folding.
  3. Fold Cream into Peanut Mixture: Gently fold one-quarter of the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture to lighten it. Then fold in half of the remaining cream and mix thoroughly. Finally, add the last portion of whipped cream and fold gently until fully combined, preserving the airy texture.
  4. Pipe and Serve: Transfer the mousse into a piping bag fitted with a swirly tip. Pipe the mousse into mason jars or glass jars. Enjoy immediately or chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute smooth almond butter or tahini for peanut butter if desired.
  • To store: Keep the mousse refrigerated in a covered container for up to 2 weeks.
  • To freeze: Cover completely and store in the freezer for up to 6 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
