Scale

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water (filtered or purified recommended)
  • 5 limes, cut into wedges (whole wedges, including peel)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (adjust to taste)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Blend limes and sugar: In a blender, add 6 cups of cold water, 5 lime wedges, and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Blend on high speed until the lime wedges are completely blended and the mixture looks frothy.
  2. Strain the mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the blended contents into the strainer. Use a spoon to press and extract as much liquid as possible, discarding the lime pulp, seeds, and skin left in the strainer.
  3. Blend with condensed milk: Rinse out the blender, then pour the strained lime liquid back into the blender. Add 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk. Blend again until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the Brazilian lemonade over the top. Garnish with fresh lime slices if desired. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and freshness.

Notes

  • Use whole lime wedges (peel included) for authentic flavor; the straining process removes the bitterness from the peel and pulp.
  • Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to taste for sweetness and creaminess.
  • Filtered or purified water is recommended for the best taste.
  • Serve immediately after preparation to enjoy the fresh, frothy texture and bright flavors.
  • The drink is tart and sweet with a creamy texture, perfect as a summer refreshment.
